God’s Signature

in Daily Recovery Devotional by Unforced Rhythms

They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.  Romans 1: 19-20

When we behold all that God has made in the world it becomes impossible to deny that He exists. We may have tried to embrace the idea that it was all a cosmic accident. That some strange chemical reaction, coupled with a fluke electrical surge zapped life into being, and that a single microbe somehow developed out of a primordial ooze.  We may be even arrogant enough to believe that we are the top of the evolutionary chain, that we are the alpha and omega!  But even those who believe in the Big Bang theory have to wonder, who banged it and where did the ingredients that were involved come from?  Many scientist that have set out to disprove the existence of God by studying all disciplines of science have come to the conclusion that there is design and order to the universe, and therefore a designer and creator, something that bring order out of chaos.

When we realize the futility of denying God and we come to believe that he exists, we must start the process of building a faith that we matter to him, that he cares for us and for us mind body and soul.  On this journey of Christ centered recovery, we grow into the understanding that God truly loves us and wants us to be restored and have relationship with him. Through scripture reading, attending meeting and especially through seeing the joyful, productive, contented lives of others who suffered from the same problems we have, our faith in God and the process steadily grows and the God idea transforms from a flimsy hope to a loving father that will never let us down.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 8:38-39

Lord, thank you for creating this world and universe, thank you for creating me in your image, and mostly Lord, thank you for loving me so much that nothing can separate me from your love, the love revealed through your son, my savior and redeemer, Jesus.
